Pitch Tracking page

The pitch tracking page has three main sections: lineup, pitch tracking, and totals. Extra sheets should be available in case of a blowout. The pitch tracking section has columns of boxes divided into rows for balls, strikes, and at-bat results. You fill each hitter one below the other and move over once you get to the next turn for the first hitter in the lineup. You can use notation to track pitch types, but it's not necessary. Tally marks in rows b and s can track balls and strikes. Once the at-bat has a result, notate it on the result line. Shorthand and abbreviations like BB for the base on balls, CS for caught stealing, and H for hit can fill out the pitching results section. Use the same position numbering as the batting section, but with less detail.

Scoring batting Page

To record each at-bat, include as much detail as possible on the score sheet. Abbreviations and shorthand can be used to create detailed notes for a game. When a hitter gets a base hit, note the type of hit and mark it over the diamond to the base reached. If the base hit drives in runs, note it in the lower left corner with tally marks. The location of the base hit can be shown with a line from home plate or a dot. If a player draws a walk or is hit by a pitch, note it in the lower right corner and draw a line to the right corner. For any runners on base, track their movement by highlighting each side of the diamond. If a batter records an out, note it depending on the type of out. If the hitter strikes out, put a K in the middle of the diamond. If the batter grounds out, write the number of the position the ball was hit to, followed by a dash and then the position of the player recording the out. Every player touching the ball before an out should be recorded.

When a batter grounds out, note the position the ball was hit to, followed by a dash and the position of the player who recorded the out. Record every player who touched the ball before the out. For a double play, note DP 6-4-3 on the hitter's square and 6-4 on the runner's box, with a line crossing the base path before the base the runner was forced out at. In a run down, note the number of each position player who touched the ball. If a runner is forced or tagged out but the batter reaches first base safely, it's a fielder's choice. Note the out on the runner's box and FC on the batter's box with a highlight to first base. For fly and foul outs, use the position number of the player who recorded the out. Note if it was a foul out and use SF if a runner advances on the fly out.
